i'm sure most people do not want to be sick. and probably won't like being sick. i am one of these people.
I have decided to make light of sickness, and make a race with myself, to make the fastest healing time. Each time I get sick, I'm going to track down the things I did (to try to get better), and will log how many days it takes to get better (from the day that the first sign of symptoms appear).
Start date: Feb 12, morning, with a really dry throat
- drank lots of honey citron tea
-had one lozenge
- chewed on some raw garlic....
Progression:
Feb 12 evening, after hydration throughout the day, still a dry/tickly throat
- chinese herbal medicine (its just honey + some medicated things) called pei pa koa
- more honey citron tea
- had a lozenge before sleeping
Feb 13 morning, woke up with sore throat and nose started to run a bit, but not stuffy.
- honey citron tea
- lozenge
- claritin for allergy like symptoms
Feb 13 evening, still sore throat, but not as bad.... runny nose is worse.
- honey citron tea
- lozenge
- pei pa koa
Feb 14 morning, sore throat.... runny and partially stuffy nose (woke up early tho)
- pei pa koa
- claritin
Feb 14 afternoon, sneezed a bit
- consumed two lozenges (strepsil black cherry flavour)
- was exposed to lots of germs at school*
Feb 14 home from school,
- drank lots of honey citron tea
- pei pa koa
- took a nap
Feb 14 evening, stuffy/runny nose, sore throat feels more dry.. D= possibly because of runny nose
- going to make more honey citron tea........... lol
Feb 14 - middle of night
- ate some garlic..drank some water.
Feb 15 - morning, felt groggy and gross
- two advil cold and sinus
- honey citron tea
- skipped morning classes
Feb 15 - afternoon
- had a strepsil lozenge during afternoon class
- laughed a lot =)
- more honey citron tea at home
Feb 16 - morning, woke up with a dry throat..... again...
- coughed a bit.....
- had an Advil Cold and Sinus
- went to school........ had some strepsils.......
Feb 16 - evening, coughing a bit... still..
- had a bowl of congee with garlic and ginger..... lots. of it.....
Feb 17 - morning, woke up with a reallllly dry throat, and a "deep cough sensation"
- dog woke me up... wanted me to let her out to pee....
- went back to sleep and woke up again
- took a Buckleys
- strepsil....
Feb 17 - evening
- went snowboarding...... it was warm though, so no biggie.....but the runs sucked, there was no snow, there was only slush.
- had another Buckleys
- had a dessert with ginger
Skippeed Feb 18 - 21 --> i am still sick. it's been more than a week. so there's no point in continuing. sigh looks like this wont be one of the fast recoveries i'll make.
* see next entry for ways to avoid getting germs, and avoid spreading germs.
