so the internet is really a place where you can find answers to almost anything and everything.
my phone battery died today. my phone charger is still in waterloo. so anyway, i went to my friend's house to charge my phone with her LG phone charger, but when we got there we found out that her phone charger doesnt fit in my phone =( .
so we searched up online how to charge it without a phone charger... lol well i knew where to go since i already looked it up the night before. anyway.. here are the steps... it actually works! =) and i only had to charge it for 15-20 mins for FULL battery life. i'll update if it seems to deteriorate too quickly or if something's wrong.
1. Turn off your phone if it isn't already turned off.
2. Grab/Find an old USB cable. It doesnt matter what the other end looks like, as long as one end goes into a USB port in the computer/laptop.
3. Plug in and turn on your laptop so that it is charging/make sure your desktop is on.
4. Cut off the end of the USB cable that DOESN'T connect to the laptop/desktop.
5. Use wire strippers, or scissors to carefully strip off the thick black casing (shock protection).
6. You should now see many thin wires surrounding 4 wires wrapped in aluminum foil. Move the thin wires aside, and unpeel the aluminum foil, exposing the 4 wires inside.
7. Use electrical tape to tape the thin wires and the foil to the cable, so that it doesn't get in the way or shock you later. *do not plug in the USB cable into the USB port yet*
8. separate the black and red wires from the white and green wires. Tape the white and green wires on the cable too, so they don't get in the way.
9. Using a wire stripper or scissors, carefully strip off the protective casing from the red and black wires, revealing the metal wires. Make sure you do not cut off the metal wires!
10. Take out the phone battery. Locate the + and - charges on the battery cell.
11. Carefully place the USB cable between the battery and the metal part in the phone, so that the metal wires of the red wire touches the +ve metal pieces of the battery/phone, and the black wire touches the -ve metal pieces of the battery/phone.
12. Carefully secure the battery in the phone, so that the wires are sandwiched inside.
13. Plug in the USB cable into the USB port of the desktop/laptop.
14. Let it charge for 15-20 mins (depends on your phone? but that's for my LG lithium 3.7Volt battery).
15. Unplug the USB cable from the USB port.
16. Remove the wire/cable from your phone.
17. Turn on the phone and check your battery life! =)
yay! I would post pictures, but .. it's late right now D= sorry. there're some youtube videos you can search up. also, you don't have to do the steps 7, 8, or 12. I just did because i'm paranoid about getting shocked lol and step 12 is just so that i don't have to hold on to the wire for 15-20 mins and like make my arm numb... & also so that i can step away and not waste time. =) i didnt have a wire stripper, so i spent lots of times trying to strip the wire with scissors lol. took so long, but i eventually got it!
