conscious or not

i'm not sure how long i should wait around until i stop trying.
not that i have anything else to do.

but i think they'll always be a place for you,
even after i stop or give up.

if you ever decide to let me in,
i'll always be subconsciously open,

i don't care if it'll be awkward,
just know that i'll be there.

unless i'm dead.
which might actually not be too bad,
because i'll see you from up there
and watch over you anyway.

then i don't have to worry about you.
