love love love love my band =)
even though these past few practises have been really stupid and boring and unnecessarily long, my band mates have seen to it that we make fun use of our time, if not productive. at yesterday's practise, it was just two vocalists, the dummer and i who were there, so basically we just got some random girl to play piano for us and then the drummer and i switched roles - he played electric and i played drums. haha. so aweesomeeeee. drumming is so fun......... but its like really audible if you make a mistake haha. yeah =) he taught me some new rolls that i got to test out and try. whooo. we had fun jamming. so it wasn't really wasted time. then today, all the vocalists were there, and they were warming up their voices, and since i had nothing to do, i joined them. now i know how to "open my voice" . lol so funny. they sing/say "hello" lol to warm/open up. soooo funny. and then we did like "hi hi hi hi hiiiii" up 5 whole tones, and then back down. (C->G) and repeat with like "he he he he heeeee" "ho ho ho ho hoooo" lol so funny. but it works =D . warming up/opening your voice is very important so as not to damage your vocal chords, and it also makes you sound better, and help you not to crack your voice when jumping from one note to a higher note. so funnn haha. and i showed one of the vocalists how to play some chords. jamming is life. so just jam along ;)
